How to apply for a Schengen visa from Bangladesh:

If you are a non-European Union citizen and you want to travel to one or more countries in the Schengen area, you will require to apply for a Schengen visa.

Here are the steps to apply for a Schengen visa from Bangladesh:

  1. Determine which Schengen country you need to apply for: You should apply to the specific embassy or consulate of the Schengen country where you will spend the most time or the country where you will enter the Schengen area if you will be staying an equal amount of time in multiple Schengen countries. Here is a list of EU Embassies in Bangladesh.
  2. Gather the required documents: The mandatory documents you need to submit with your visa application vary depending on the purpose of your visit, the country you are applying to, and your personal circumstances. However, common required documents include a completed visa application form, a passport with at least two blank pages, two passport-sized photos, travel medical insurance, and proof of accommodation.
  3. Schedule an appointment: You will need to schedule an appointment to submit your visa application and biometric data (your fingerprints and photograph). You can do this online or through the embassy or consulate’s website.
  4. Attend the appointment: You will need to attend the appointment in person and bring all the required documents with you. During the appointment, your biometric data will be collected, and you will be asked questions about your trip and your personal circumstances.
  5. Wait for the visa decision: After your appointment, your application will be processed, and you will be notified of the decision. The processing time can vary depending on the embassy or consulate and the time of year, so it is recommended that you apply well in advance of your trip.
  6. Collect your passport from the embassy: If your visa application is approved, you will need to collect your passport in person from the embassy or consulate.
